Yeah I know, where the heck have I been? It's been months!

Well to cut a long story short, I started a new job while deciding to keep parts of my old one and now I barely have time to sit down and do anything that isn't work related. I now work in the city and see much more of my friends then before which is great, but at the same time there goes free time. I really need to get back to my writing and I'll be easing into it again. Oh and hey new laptop means that I can take it with me and maybe do some writing on lunch breaks, train rides...ruin my eyes even more..... Its a Mac and from a life-time PC user I'm finding it a bit hard to adjust to, but its so purty.....

I've been re-reading my two fics - Lost Gods and Pursuit of Power and I'll be working on them again. So wish me luck! Hopefully will have something new soon.

I’ve had a very rough beginning to the New Year, which has been capped off with my bag being snatched from me – in broad daylight – with my iPod in it….my iPod which had all current episodes of Bleach and Ouran High School Host Club. Just got back from visiting my brother - I'm telling you now people, a 10 hour drive in the back seat of an overstuffed van is not the most fun thing in the world. Though I have to say it was much better then I thought it would be. My early Christmas presents of portable DVD players for my niece and nephew went down beautifully. With our folder of anime dvds we were set.

I splurged on a beautiful tea set (yes another one) that I very carefully guarded on the way home. I was pleasantly greeted by my babies, my puppies, who were very well looked after by my parents. There is something about having your dogs running up to you and jumping around like crazy that says to me that I am home.

I am going to crash into my bed now as I have work first thing in the morning - nothing says holidays and Christmas is over then going back to work eh?

AN: Yeah I know, I know, what lame excuse has Lin come up with now?  Honestly though, this was a serious setback this time.  For those of you who visit my LJ you would already know.  For you those who don’t, short story?  My laptop crashed.  Needless to say I hope you all forgive me.  For those waiting on Pursuit - more on that at the end of the chapter.

...my laptop, faithful companion of 4 odd years has finally bitten the dust. -wipes eyes- I did buy it second hand, so it was much older then four years, so perhaps its time was coming but still...it shocks you ya know?

Especially when the darn thing crashes and you hadn't backed up a single god-blessed thing! The main reason for this post is to explain my rather long absence. My computer died, all my files were lost as in EVERYTHING. I was working on a chapter of Lost Gods, but that is tragically gone, I'll have to go from scratch and its never the same as the first, you always have a nagging feeling that what you had before was just better. I also had a size able chunk of the new chapter of Pursuit of Power. Alas, also all gone.

Kick me now for I do not know how to backup. Everyone says it too, backup your files, back it up constantly, never ending this task of backing up and yet I didn't listen. Though mind you I was paranoid about backing up my thesis when I was writing it. I had multiple copies, had it on two disks, a pen drive, a floppy even emailed it to two different emails every so often. Why couldn't I have been as paranoid about my fic?

-sigh- Oh well, life goes on and I finally dug around in my coffers (and a little begging and borrowing) and finally got a new computer. A desktop this time but wohoo what a desktop it is! It's an HP media center and I've been bugging hubby with all the things it can do. Hehe. So there is a silver-lining in this rather dark cloud.

Well that's my rather long-winded rant (excuse) for why I haven't gotten anywhere with my fics recently.

Hopefully I'll back with a new chapter!

-bouncing- The last couple of days have been an absolute blast and I just gotta share - I just went to my very first Anime/Sci-Fi convention...okay they called it an Expo...you know what I mean!

Got a heap of stuff signed. Vic Mignona (Ed,FMA / Broly, DBZ / Dark, DN Angel) was an absolute sweetie. Even remembered our names from the first day of signing.  Crispin Freeman (Alucard, Hellsing / Ebisu, Naruto / Shougo Amakusa, Rurouni Kenshin) was really nice too and rather cute...They showed the FMA movie and Hellsing and they were awesome.

Oh and plushies! I got plushies!! -hugs Kon- But drat it there were no Inuyasha plushies! Well okay, I lied, I got a Human Inuyasha plushie, but darn it I wanted my Puppy Ears!!!!!! WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! -draws in a breath- It's okay, its okay, I got the email of the guys selling plushies and he said he'd email me pics and pricelists...So I WILL own Inuyasha!  -insert maniacal laughter here-

Okay, okay, can you tell I'm all hyper? Yep, and it ended yesterday. Though I gotta say thank the lord that I haven't got work today. I can just sit back and stare at my wall scrolls, squeeze my plushies and watch my anime back to back....YAY!!
